The hotel interiors and guest rooms have a "Moon and Sunlight" theme,
so they are decorated with original "Yumekorozome" dyed art pieces
by master artisan Mr. Okuda Yusai.
Yumekorozome is based on
a traditional "illusionary dye" technique called Korozen,
which used to only be worn by the historical emperors of Japan.
Mr. Yusai was allowed to study the historical garments held at Koryuji Temple,
and he unlocked the secrets to their color-changing dye in 1990.
Our Yumekorozome art pieces are displayed in the hope that their light sway and
color-changes in sunlight will bring brightness and
serenity to the hearts of our guests.

Yumekorozome: Dye of the Sun

Yumekorozome is a dye that shows all the brilliance of sunlight, and we invite you to marvel at how the colors change in different lights. Because each guest room is named for a different month of the traditional agricultural calendar, the dyed art pieces in each room were created with those seasonal images and colors in mind.
High Quality Amenities

Each room has skin and hair products made with moisturizing pearl essence, while the original pajamas are made with silk, and the original linens use the finest threads. To help guests slip away into a blissful spa time, all the towels are made of absorbent and soft to the touch Imabari cotton.

The guest room is surrounded by a bamboo garden which encompasses Zen concepts and uses one of the seven precious stones of Kyoto, black "maguro-ishi", in symbolic ways like a trio of deities seeing you safely off to sleep. The vast room is equipped with a 2 meter Hinoki cypress bathtub, a place to spend your time in luxury. The soft texture of the Kyo-Karakami paper headboard and the elegant strength brimming in the bamboo art will invite you to enjoy the most relaxing sleep. Kyo-Karakami in particular shows some of the greatest finesse of Kyoto crafts, and the angle at which the light hits it will create different shades of a tranquil and elegant atmosphere.
